IPH offers psychological services to children, adolescents and adults. We care about the art and science of psychological health treatment and believe in an evidence-based, wellness-focused, mind-body approach to care. Our providers are highly trained, caring and compassionate. We work collaboratively with our patients and their other health providers to develop an individualized plan of care. We have similar values in regard to treatment, believing in a person-centered approach to care, and utilize evidence (research) based gold standard treatments. Our therapists do their best to improve the psychological outlook of our patients, knowing that there is no "us versus them" when it comes to mental and physical health. Decreasing stigma surrounding mental illness is an important goal.
Most of our providers are independent contractors with the practice. If a treatment issue arises, please inform your individual provider.

She has experience providing therapeutic services to adults, adolescents, and children.
In your therapy sessions, Dr. Shah will help you understand your current state (emotions, behavioral patterns, etc.) in order to identify points of intervention to reach your goals. These may include managing depressive or anxiety symptoms, life transitions, relationships, workplace stress, or enhancing your quality of life to just feel happier. Dr. Shah also values preventive approaches to overall health and well-being, and enjoys motivating patients to be proactive in their care by maintaining healthy lifestyle behaviors (diet, exercise, sleep, self-care, etc.). After all, she believes that when you no longer need her, she’s done her job.

He also has experience counseling clients with medical illnesses utilizing cognitive rehabilitation, which requires retraining previously learned skills and teaching compensatory strategies.
As part of the therapeutic process, he strives to create a safe space with respect and compassion, as they are all necessary to building trust and constructing a treatment plan that works to meet his client's unique and specific goals.
His approach combines cognitive-behavioral, mindfulness, and client-centered psychotherapy. A significant part of therapy is helping the client develop healthy and practical tools they can practice in sessions together so they can feel confident utilizing them in their everyday lives.
Lastly, every day we experience different sources of stress in our lives that sometimes become unbearable, and often, we feel that we are the only ones dealing with this sort of stress, and we think we must suffer alone. However, while the stressors you are feeling are real and valid, It does not mean you need to deal with or process them alone. Therapy can help you to grow as an individual and help you become better equipped to work through these stressors that life throws at you.
